Software engineering management is the collection of work activities involved with planning, estimating, measuring, controlling, coordinating, leading, and managing risk factors for a software project. Its purpose is to ensure delivery of software products and software engineering services effectively, efficiently, and to the stakeholders’ benefit [SWEBOK].
